Early Birds: Start Saving by Registering Now

The IMS 2009 has just recently posted hotel and conference registration information. This month kicks-off the early bird period for conference registration. Given today’s shaky economy, the savings offered by advanced registration might be the way to go. Also - in consideration of the current economic climate, another new feature implemented for this year is a discount rate that is being offered to IEEE Alumni (past IMS attendees) who are between jobs (e-mail inquiries to alumnirequest@ims2009.org). This year is also offering a symposium Superpass that will allow registrants to attend as many sessions as the wish from the three contributing organizations – MTT, RFIC, and ARFTG. With a 15% discount over the combined ala-carte pricing, this Superpass is another cost-saver.

Bringing a guest? Attendees can obtain an optional complimentary badge for one guest allowing access to the Hospitality Suite, Plenary Session, and Exhibition Hall, but excludes access to the Technical Sessions and Workshops.

Registration Information

New Registration Categories
NEW for 2009, the Registration process is now split into three tiers in order to better serve membership needs. The 1st tier is the Early Bird Registration period. It begins Monday, February 2nd and will last through Friday, May 15th. This period provides an opportunity to register for the Symposium at the lowest possible cost. Immediately following the Early Bird period is the 2nd tier or Advance Registration period. It extends from Saturday May 16th through Friday, June 5th, just prior to the start of Microwave Week. The 3rd and final tier is the On-Site Registration period that will remain the same as in past Symposia, starting on Saturday June 6th, the first day of Microwave Week, and ending on Friday, June 12th.

Early Bird Period: Feb 2nd — May 15th
Advance Period: May 16th — June 5th
On-Site Period: June 6th — June 12th (throughout Microwave Week)

Symposium SUPERPASS
Also NEW for 2009 is the Symposium SUPERPASS. For one discounted price, registrants can attend as many technical sessions as they can from any of the three contributing organizations, MTT, RFIC, and ARFTG, as well as attend one full-day workshop (or two half-day workshops, if desired). In addition, the SUPERPASS will allow you to attend the Awards Banquet on Wednesday and the Symposium Reception on Thursday.

The SUPERPASS is a SUPERDEAL offering a 15% discount over the combined ala-carte pricing.

Early Bird Registration
Early Bird Registration rates provide significant savings from the on-site fees and are available through midnight May 15th. Registration is required for all attendees including SESSION CHAIRS and PRESENTERS. Only paid attendees will be admitted to the breakfasts, workshops, technical sessions, and Exhibition Hall. Each registrant must submit a separate form with payment.

Methods of Registration
Individuals can register online, by FAX, or by mail. All registrations must be accompanied with a payment; we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and checks drawn from a U.S. bank. Registration forms received without a form of payment will be discarded. We do NOT accept phone registrations.

Symposia
Microwave Week includes the IMS Technical program, and Exhibition, as well as the RFIC Symposium (www.rfic2009.org), and ARFTG Conference (www.arftg.org).

Select the conference(s) you wish to attend. Students, Retiree’s, and IEEE Life Members receive a discount on some registration fees. To qualify as a student, a registrant must be either an IEEE Student Member or a full time student carrying a course load of at least nine credit hours.

Microwave Week hosts the largest exhibition of its kind with over 400 companies. Exhibit only registration is available.

Workshops
The workshop fee includes a CD ROM and speaker's notes for that workshop. Full-day workshops include a continental breakfast, a morning refreshment break, a boxed lunch, and an afternoon refreshment break. Morning workshops include a continental breakfast, a morning refreshment break, and a boxed lunch. Afternoon workshops include a boxed lunch and an afternoon refreshment break. The All-Workshop DVD-ROM includes material for all RFIC and IMS workshops on one DVD-ROM, but the DVD-ROM price alone does not include admission to any workshops. Note that there are two NEW options for 2009. First, registrants can save by selecting a combined Workshop (one full-day or two half-day workshops) and All-Workshop DVD-ROM. And second, for those who might only be interested in the RFIC workshops, an All-RFIC Workshop-Only CD is now offered.
