MTT-S IMS: It’s not just another “trade show”– it’s a once-a-year-only chance to meet and make new connections!
“We at Reactel view the MTT-S show as the high point of our marketing season. We use this industry leading show as the lever to launch new products, introduce new product catalogs, and meet with our customers in a non-traditional business setting.”
Ditto for us. AWR views the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) and its European companion show, EuMW, and even the Japanese version, Microwave Week Japan, as high points of our marketing season globally. But unlike the latter two, MTT is the only show that is truly global and brings all levels of the microwave and RF world together for a few days. Sales, marketing, engineering, managers, execs, editors, PR…everyone is there and the show provides unique value for all. Where else and when else would you have a chance to get to know your customers and partners, and even the media who covers you all year, if not for IMS’s exhibit floor, poster, panel and technical talks, not to mention a social venue here or there?
MTT-S IMS Boston will mark the fifth year that AWR has hosted its Customer Appreciation Party for our many customers, partners, and friends in the industry. Each year the attendee list grows and we are always told it is one of the highlights of the social aspect of the show. Last year we were pleased by the overwhelming response at our event…more than 500 RF and microwavers spent some time with AWR at the Hard Rock Cafe.
The Six Degrees of Separation (also referred to as the "Human Web") refers to the idea that, if a person is one step away from each person they know and two steps away from each person who is known by one of the people they know, then everyone is at most six steps away from any other person on Earth. In the RF and microwave world it is likely only three, and IMS is without doubt the quintessential setting. I remember last year standing next to a friend at the AWR Customer Appreciation Party and a friend of his approached and said, “Hey, I didn’t know you knew her” and just like that our entire way of dealing with one another moving forward took on a great level of trust and respect. I know I’m not unique, as many others in the room that night had similar experiences and reactions to share.
This year AWR will not only be demonstrating the latest versions of our Microwave Office®, Visual System Simulator™, and AXIEM™ software in our booth #1418, but also looking forward to the less formal dialogues that take place at our Annual Customer Appreciation Party – once again at the Hard Rock but this time in Fanueil Hall area of Boston! This year promises to be the best bash yet thanks to our great party co-sponsors, TriQuint and Anritsu.
But why must the camaraderie and the resulting idea generation, brainstorming, and general “fun” end after IMS closes up and we all go home? In this era of continuous connection, thanks to the wireless revolution, AWR wants to extend the energy and enthusiasm of IMS to an all-year-long experience. To that end, we have created an AWR Facebook Fan site at AWR FACEBOOK FAN PAGE
Check it out for pictures from last year’s AWR Customer Appreciation Party and for more information about this coming year’s event. Don't forget to join the AWR Facebook Fan page today and you’ll likely find yourself on the VIP access list to our Appreciation event at the Hard Rock on June 10th.
What I like most about IMS and everything that surrounds it is that it's a once-a-year-only chance to actually live the adage, “find what you love to do in life and do it.” IMS for all of us is a heck of a lot of work, but let’s face it, we love the world of RF & microwaves and this is our chance to truly enjoy all that we do!
Thanks IEEE MTT-S for this quality event year after year!
