Expert Advice to Experts from Experts, IMS 2009 MicroApps
Connecting experts to experts is what the MicroApps sessions are all about in Boston this year at IMS 2009, a premier technical event for technology leaders in RF and microwave design. Agilent sponsors the MicroApps session which are created as an expert to expert forum where challenging design and measurement issues can be discussed in a very matter-a-fact context. Last year 23 company participants presented 40 papers on topics covering RF filters to component packaging. Well over 160 people attended the 15 Agilent presented papers that pragmatically discussed application breakthrough technologies such as the Non-linear Vector Network Analyzer (NVNA) or the design challenges in software-defined radios (SDR). Participants also gained insight into front to back MMIC design flow and wideband signal analysis.
This year Agilent and our partners will address the newest advances in Non-linear Vector Network Analysis, X-parameters and the improved design flows that the industry is achieving. There will be some “down and dirty” discussions on the intricacies of testing instantaneous phase fluctuations, how to simplify power amplifier testing, modeling multichannel transmission lines and the latest in 4G system-level performance simulation for RFICs. That is just the highlights, we have much more planned.
Another exciting addition, to help IMS 2009 participants gain even more technical depth is the Agilent sponsored “Education Theater”, a first of its kind event where basic and brand new measurement techniques can be explored in a fast-paced, fun learning environment. Topics will include, getting the most out of your network analyzer, going beyond with your spectrum analyzer, making your signal source really perform and using design software to make a significant difference in product development.
